Yeah so my scanner can't scan color! The original looks pretty different from this- and please ignore the horizontal lines, haha! This was the painting I comic attacked about a few weeks ago. I haven't painted in literally years, so it was great to streach my brushes and paints. I should make a point to try and paint more often, I enjoy it a lot.
STATS:
Watercolor, 10"x16.
Original painting to be exhibited in "Jab Strong Fierce" (Street Fighter Tribute Show featuring a ton of amazing artists, cosplay and a tournament!) at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, LA.
The show will run from April 25, 2009 - May 11, 2009
Opening Reception / Apr 25, 7:00PM - 11:00PM
Vega is totally copyright Capcom.
Sadly I can't make the reception, and it's doubtful I'll get to see the show at all, so all you west coasters gotta represent for me! I love the Nucleus, it's like a cultural hub of awesome, not only do they have a gallery that always has some kind of amazing show, but they stock a wide array of art books, tshirts, accessories, toys, yeah it's a great place. If you're in Cali you gotta check it out, if you haven't already (and what do you know, Jab Strong Fierce is a great opportunity to do so!). The Nucleus sells archival prints of my work in their store and on their site as well, most of which I'm taking out of circulation, so get em while you can!
And in case anyone was wondering, I chose Vega to honor one of the best animated fight scenes of all time! I would have painted Chun Li too, but my schedule is pretty packed, I'm drawing too many comics! HANDSOME FIGHTERS NEVER LOSE BATTLES!!!

I might have to go to Nucleus and take a picture in front of your painting. I'll have a fake conversation with your while I'm there so you won't feel left out.
Dude. So rad. Give me a heads up if/when you do Gouken.
Totally loved on your painting in person:
