EMMA REVIEW

I just wrote a review of one of my favorite comics ever: EMMA, by Kaoru Mori!

It's posted it on my main site, Estrigious.com, that I share with my good friends Melissa DeJesus and Hwan Cho. :3 We review things, blog about comics and events and things that we're involved in! And we're celebrating our ten year anniversary as a group this year!!! Sigh~ How romantic <3

Waah you know and like Emma?! Seriously, I could rant about how wonderful this series is all day. Oh the characters, the well-researched details of everday-life, the costumes and just the pure skill of the storytelling, you know all those little sequences that are just so well-observed *swoons.*
It would be so great if more series of this quality would be published here.

I'll admit I originally thought it best to steer clear of this series, particularly because it's a Japanese manga about maids. That, and I thought it might be a Japanese re-vamping of Jane Austen's "Emma," but after your glowing review, I think I might give it a chance after all.

I should probably read Jane Austen's "Emma" as well, which I've been meaning to do for years. The copy I have is from the 30s or 40s, though, so maybe I should pick up a cheap copy from Barnes & Noble....
